Memorial Day is the day in which we honor those who have fallen during active service for our country. We spend time remembering their sacrifice and their bravery.
In recent times, Memorial Day has been the unofficial kickoff of summer. Some kids are already out of school, pools are opening, shopping sales are great, and BBQ season is gearing up for another year of burgers and hot dogs at family gatherings. It seems that we have forgotten what this day is truly about.
There are national cemeteries all throughout the country that spend this fourth Monday of May honoring those who have fallen with ceremonies throughout the day. Family members will spend time at the graveside of their fallen soldier to remember them and grieve. Let us not forget those whom we honor this day. Let us send love to those who have lost their loved ones in the fight to keep us free. Our thoughts are with you today and every day.
